A Comparative Study on Mesoporous Y Zeolites Prepared by Hard-Templating and Post-Synthetic Treatment Methods

Mesoporous Y zeolites were prepared comparatively using the bottom-up templating (with carbon nanotubes, CNTs, and nanocrystalline cellulose, NCC, as templates) top-down post-synthetic treatment sequential chemical alkaline treatment) methods characterised comprehensively various techniques. The relevant findings show that mesoporous with intercrystal mesoporosity by methods, NCC is more effective, economic sustainable hard template than CNTs for promoting formation of mesoporosity. While strategy, microwave (MW)-assisted (using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, EDTA, agent dealumination) was much effective conventional hydrothermal (HT) introducing intracrystalline under comparable condition, e.g. external surface area: 287 m2 g−1 1 min MW vs. 205 6 h HT treatment. zeolites, along parent Y, assessed catalytic cracking 1,3,5 triisopriopylbenzene (TiPBz). It found well-developed promoted MW-assisted post-synthesis method highly beneficial to catalysis involving bulky molecules, accordingly showed best performance (regarding conversion selectivity) among all study in this work.
